Talking to family a few months ago I predicted that social networking will begin to evolve shortly into something pretty creepy, not that it isn’t already. I explained that soon you will be able to look at someone’s social networking page, whether it be Facebook, Myspace, or whatever, and see what they are doing, where they are doing it, and even watch them do it. This was shortly after I read about Yahoo’s upcoming Fire Eagle project and began thinking about what social networking will be like say next year or so. This years hottest venture has to be Twitter.com, you can’t visit a blog or turn on a podcast without reading or hearing about it, TWiT fans know what I’m talking about. The service has been going up and down lately which in turn has created even more buzz as it seems every site has to report on it going down. For the unenlightened I’m tempted to describe Twitter for you as a microblog, but if I hear that term again I’m gonna throw something, so I’ll describe it as basically a collection of Facebook status messages, you have the ability to follow people and read the posts they make throughout the day, in turn people can follow you and read yours. But this isn’t meant to be a post about what Twitter is, you can Google it if you want more

Podcasting is something that’s been around for awhile now and if you look hard enough there are some great podcasts out there. If you’ve never watched a podcast hopefully this list will help you to find one you’ll like, these are my favorite 5.
5. The Onion News Network

If you are looking for a great comedy podcast to start your day with look no further then the ONN. The Onion News Network from The Onion, everyone’s favorite fake newspaper, has made their hilariously brilliant Onion News Network videos available as a podcast. If you’re a fan of their faux news then you’ll love the ONN videos. One of my favorites is about a human head found in the a Burger King Whopper, check it out on the ONN’s website.
Over easter weekend my sister and I stopped at a McDonald’s restaurant in Romeoville, IL. When we walked in we were surprised to find this was no normal McDonald’s. Inside there were no menus glowing up overhead the cashier, instead were two large terminals with touchscreen displays and a hand sanitizer station between them.
